"Our children arrived exactly as they were designed. There was no mistake here. They are a direct and unmistakable gift from God. He has given us children capable of copious amounts of unconditional love because we haven't been open to receiving the more indirect ways He's been showering it on us for the previous years of our lives." ~Courtney Heigele

Announcing ...
...Baby # 11 due May 31st, 2013.
We saw the most beautiful sight in the world today- a strong, healthy heartbeat :)
Wow! So happy and excited for all of you! Your due date is a great day to be born, I should know, my middle daughter has that birthdate! :) Lots of love and prayers coming your way!
Congratulations!!! I don't normally comment on your blog, but I check in every day to see what is new. I love, love, love readying about Lily and your whole family on both your blogs. I am so excited for you and your family!
Silly me...I thought that was the picture of the baby's heart. Hard to believe this is a baby, a human being with a heart already. Blows my mind how some people think this is not a human yet.
Praying for a healthy and safe pregnancy, labor and delivery, as usual. It may be #11 for you but it is #20 for Dad and me. ;>))))
Patti, I have to admit that I haven't visited your blog in quite awhile in order to say congratulations today. I just now saw this and want to say that I am so very very happy for you. My favorite part of parenthood is pregnancy, giving birth, and yes that little "vacation" in the hospital that follows when you can just lay around all day staring at your new baby, with someone else taking care of you for once. Others might say that's awful, but it's really how I feel and I would have 11 children too, just to get to experience that miracle, if I could. Wonderful wonderful news Patti. I also read your prior post about Alyssa, and in regards to that I want to say this...I have the same worries about my children, and they don't have any special needs. They are, according to Alyssa's definition, perfect children. But still, knowing the issues and troubles I have had even as an adult, I know they need SOMEONE, even as adults with no chromosomal disorder. Depression, anxiety, addiction, financial troubles, development of cancer, the list goes on and on of what a "typical" child can need a caregiver or support person for as an adult. I heart you! You are one of the most caring, smart, articulate, faithful, truly good women I have ever "met". I only wish I could have you as in IRL friend...I don't really have my mother since my Dad died 4 years ago. I was born a "typical" baby, and I still have need of a mother, you know?
