changes and a winner

Thank you for being so patient while we waited to verify a winner for our MacBook Pro Giveaway.

Thank you to each and every one of you who gave so generously to sweet little Taylor and the Dewberry family. Taylor's mama would love for you to follow the rest of their story on their family blog HERE.

The winner of the MacBook Pro is....

Brandi Mendenhall

Please contact me or Julia with your email address so we can put you in touch with the wonderful donor of the MacBook.

Last Saturday I hosted a Jack and Lily Weekend Giveaway...the winner of the scentsy bar, Lonicera is

Cara

Please email me your address so I can get your scentsy bar in the mail to you.

If you are a reader of our family blog, you may have noticed that we're going private. I asked people who know us in real life to email me if they'd like an invitation to the blog...I'm extending the invitation to Lily's readers as well.

Although I intended to host a Jack and Lily's Giveaway here every week, as we did last summer, I've decided to hold off on that. We have a big move ahead of us next month...waiting to see where we'll land...and I have a lot on my plate. Posting here on A Perfect Lily might be a bit sporadic this summer... I hope you understand. In the mean time, there is an incredible list of blogs on my blogroll on the sidebar over there - if you haven't ever had the chance to check them out, this summer would be a great time for getting to know some wonderful blogs like Everything and Nothing From Essex or Micah Six Eight or Blessings and Glory or Down Syndrome New Mama.

And finally...just a little Lily love to tide you over until next time...

Love,
Patti

Patti,
I do not know you personally but I have followed your A Perfect Lily blog for a long time. My daughter, Beatrice (age 16 months) also has Down Syndrome and I have received so much joy and hope through watching Lily grow. Not sure if you would be willing to extend an invitation to me, even though you don't know me personally... but I will surely miss reading your posts about your beautiful family and amazing Lily!!!!! We have 3 boys and then Beatrice and love reading about other large families, especially those with God at the center. My email is: TracyLGraham@hotmail.com

Have very much enjoyed reading your Lilybird blog - thanks for sharing and for advocating for others and shining His light. If you are willing to add an unknown reader - I'd be honored.

Sylvia- email me? I'm keeping A Perfect Lily public, but making our family blog Notes From Home private.

I am not sure if you want "unknown peeps" reading your family blog, but I would love to keep reading about the amazing Rice family. I fully understand if you cannot extend the invitation. Either way, best of luck with the move and thanks for being such an inspirational Mom!! I have a 14 year old and a 9 year old and I am in awe of all you do. Laurie at "zfamily5@q.com".

Patti, you did not tell me Lils knows how to say Grammi!! I was so surprised when she named one of her babies Grammi. Oh I know...you were saving it as a surprise!! :>) I just love listening to her chatter. I do not envy you packing...oh wait...if all goes well we will be packing also. You may have more people to pack for but you will have far more help than we will. :>(

Hi Patti,
I don't know you personally...but it sure seems like I do! I enjoy both blogs, but certainly understand if you don't want to add a "stranger". Our neice has DS and you have certainly opened my eyes to the joys of DS. I can truly say I look at her so differently now. I also teach kindergarten and your outlook has helped me rethink my views regarding the extra special students in our school too. Thank you for all you do.

I too have followed the growth of your family for a longtime. You inspire me daily with your strength, love, and commitment in life. I became a nurse because of my love of caring for all people. As a teen I was given the gift a caring for my cousin who had various medical issues. He taught me compassion and how to truly love even though he could not walk or talk. I will miss your family musings tremendously! Godspeed!

Patti, I have been following your blogs for a while now. I do not have a child with down syndrome. I don't even know anyone with a child with down syndrome. But after finding Reece's Rainbow and then finding your blog, I feel like down syndrome would be a blessing. I had never thought about having a child with down syndrome or adopting one, but after reading blogs through Reece's Rainbow and your blog I feel like it would be a huge blessing in my families life. (sitll waiting for hubby to agree, lol) While I understand the need to go private, please know that I will miss Lily and your beautiful stories, thoughts and dreams about your baby girl and family. You are very inspirational and a great advocate. Thank you for sharing your family as long as you have.
