the end and the beginning

Last week, when I blogged about this sweet little boy, I really had no intention of doing another giveaway...

I must admit I cringe a little every time I go to hit publish when I'm about to run a fundraiser/giveaway. I'm almost sure I hear voices telling me people are so tired of giving to orphans and reading about my giveaways, that they're going to boycott Lily's blog until I stop. But then I just look at those sweet little faces on Reece's Rainbow...or read about the kids that are already home with their families...or I'll get the nicest comment in the world...like this one from Julie (commenting all the way from Eastern Europe!!)...

Thank you Patti for not hiding in a corner! Thank you for helping bring Peter out of the darkness so I could find him. I knew the moment I laid eyes on his picture he was ours and his heart whispered to mine, 'there you are...' the day I wrapped my arms around him.
He almost slipped through our fingers but my heart held on tight and here we are. At this moment he is sound asleep right between Mommy and Daddy.
Merry Christmas, Peter. Miracles do happen.

....and then I just hit PUBLISH POST :)

So last week, as my finger was poised in the air above the keyboard, I looked at this innocent little boy who shares my Lily's extra chromosome, and prayed that readers would rally once again...

...and you did:)

$1,358 added to Brent's grant fund on Reece's Rainbow in one week, bringing that grant up to $3,058...and this is after you helped raise over $10,000 for Artem, Robyn, Ty and Brent during the Angel Tree project in November and December.

Can I just say you folks are amazing???

YOU ARE!!!

So as our pearl of great price giveaway ends, I just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your hearts for orphans, and thank you for always partnering with me to bring them home.

The winner of the $100 gift certificate to The Vintage Pearl is...

Yvette ~Donated to bobby my heart breaks. We are home just a week with two unwanteds - one who sat & sat on the list. There is hope. Please I challenge others to give even 5x what has been asked for bobby - $5 could make a huge difference

The winner of the Kindle Keyboard is...

The Browning Family~ Just donated. Beautiful pearl you have up, oh and the jewelry is nice too! ;)

Winners, please contact me so I can put you in touch with the lovely ladies who donated these prizes!

And now, onto the beginning....did you catch the title of this post? You thought I mixed those two up, didn't you?

This adorable little angel is also named Lily...her mama owns an equally adorable shop on Etsy, and on Monday we will be giving away the BEAUTIFUL hat pictured above, appropriately named...The Lily Owl Hat.

This giveaway will not be for any kind of fundraiser...this giveaway is for YOU.

Okay, and I am already getting emotional typing those words, but it's true- I can never, ever, ever thank you all enough for always supporting my giveaways and for leaving kind comments and for loving Lily...never in a million years.

But I wanted to at least try.

Lily's birthday is one week from Monday.

My baby girl turns two, and I can hardly believe it. So many of you have been on this journey with us from the beginning, and I can't tell you what your friendship has meant to me. I'm so grateful to God for giving me Lily, not only because He used her to open my eyes to orphans with Down syndrome, but because her life gave me the opportunity to meet you. You've been a shoulder to cry on, an ear when I needed to vent, an outstretched hand when I pleaded to give...you've laughed with me and shared my joys, and I simply cannot tell you what that means to this mama's heart.

So starting Monday, every day up until Lily's second birthday, there will be a giveaway here on A Perfect Lily...Lily's gift to you. Seven days of separate giveaways, each running for one day only- so please don't miss a day as we celebrate Lily's Birthday Week.....

We've only just begun !

See you Monday! :)

Thank you for doing what you do- for advocating for Lilly, for all the children on Reece's Rainbow, and for my sweet Abi.

It is so good to see that much more money raised for Brent and to have someone raising it for him. Thank you. And I am glad I could be a part of it.
Love the had. It is a good thing there are so many different talents out there. If we all had the same life would be really bring.
On my blog you asked about the blog2print book. I don't know how it compares to printing it yourself but it sure is easier. $14.95 for 20 pages or so and then 35cents for additional ones. I have been really impressed with the quality. Hope that helps.

FYI- when I see a new giveaway on our blog, I get excited. That means one more orphan is one giant step closer to being claimed by their family! Never be discouraged or hesitant in your efforts Patti. You are changing lives for the better- the orphans, their families who are blessed by them, and those of us that aren't in the position to adopt but want to make a difference.

I love the beautiful Lily Owl Hat. Some people have so much talent. And some talents are unseen but felt. Just like the talent of rallying people together to raise money for the less fortunate.

Patti you are so awesome. All the stuff you do to bring attention to all the little angels with Down syndrome in Eastern Europe that need a family just amazes me. :) Jesenia will be 2 on the 21st! One day when I get caught up on bills maybe I can make a trip with my little ones so Lily and Jesenia can get together. Happy early birthday Lily! We'll be counting down with you!

that little hat is adorable.

patti, never hesitate before pushing that button! your readers have proven themselves faithful... the number you all raised in 2011 was AMAZING. and, above all else, you have actually introduced families to their children, and children to their mommies & daddies. that is nothing short of INCREDIBLE.

keep following His prompting. He will never steer you wrong! :)

Really, it is you to celebrate! You've got 689 subscribers and more readers than that, I'm sure. You've helped raise awareness, raise funds, bring children and families together AND advocated for Lily for 2 years all the while raising 9 other children (OK, some are grown...) But, Patti, you are amazing! Big California hugs to you.

Patti, don't you ever stop doing fundraising or talking about one child or another! And never hesitate to enter that post! A few times a month I am able to donate few dollars to one child or another and I am glad you let me know who needs them most! Most of us are here not for a sweet prize to win, but because we all care!

In agreement with everyone telling you not to ever feel like you need to stop fundrasing. Because of your heart and voice for all the little ones we are able to help! I wouldn't have even known about this or how urgent it is to get all these babies a home. So I too want to be that voice and share. Thank you so much for what you do!
