Jack and Lily's Giveaway Wednesday/Thursday

Welcome to Jack and Lily's Giveaway Wednesday.

Warning: graphic photos ahead.

I told Lily that since the summer is officially over in the Rice household and homeschooling has begun, this will be our last Jack and Lily Giveaway Wednesday. At first she was stunned...

After the shock wore off, dismay began to settle in...

She was distraught for several long minutes, even pulling out the-extreme-pouty-face in protest...

I tried consoling her, telling her we would be sure to start up their Giveaway Wednesdays next summer. But she just couldn't be encouraged. Even a popsicle couldn't cheer her up...

She took a few tentative licks to try to ease the pain of disappointment...

...and it appeared this diversion might just do the trick....

But her temporary joy gave way to the previous grief and anguish..

And then it got really ugly...

Until Jackson caught wind of the wailing and gnashing of teeth and rode in to save the day..

He told her that since it's their last Giveaway Wednesday until next summer, they could make it last for two days and give away two prizes...

SO welcome to Jack and Lily's Giveaway Wednesday/Thursday!!

TWO lucky commenters will each win one Scentsy bar from Lily's Scentsy Shop!

Love Story fragrance bar is from the Scentsy Romance line....Innocent pink jasmine and sensual amber embraced by luscious dark chocolate.     Here's my personal description: Heaven in a bar.

This scent is one of my personal favorites....

Red Candy Apple is bursting with tart Macintosh apples, red raspberry jam, sweet red berries and strawberry milk, with notes of brown sugar, taffy and cotton candy.

My mouth is watering just reading the description. This scent is no longer available- and I am so glad I stocked up on it!

If you're not familiar with Scentsy products, allow me to introduce you.
If you're a fragrance fanatic like me, you love a home or office or business that smells good.

Authentic Scentsy warmers use a low-watt bulb to slowly melt specially formulated wax.
With no flame, smoke, or soot, the Scentsy wickless candle system is a safe way to enjoy Scentsy fragrances.

In a nutshell: you just plop two or three cubes from a Scentsy bar (which is made up of 8 cubes) into your Scentsy warmer, plug it in and VOILA! Fragrance Heaven. That lasts for hoooooours.

So just leave a comment here to be entered to win either Red Candy Apple or Love Story. Please tell me what your favorite season is and why...

I'll tell you mine..

I love Fall. Everything about it. The turning of the leaves, the crisp cool nights, warm comfy sweaters, hot chocolate at football games, warm cozy fires in our wood-burning stove, pumpkin bread and molasses cookies, hot savory soups and baked acorn squash drizzled with butter and brown sugar. Red apples and mini gourds and Indian corn centerpieces, boots and scarves and berets, hazelnut lattes and chai tea and almond rocha mochas- I LOVE FALL.

SO what do you love? Tell me in the comment section, and on Friday Jack and Lily will draw two winners. And if you have the time and feel like browsing, check out the gorgeous new Premium Warmers from Scentsy. Here's one of my fav's..

Happy Fall!!

I'm with you! I LOVE fall! It has been SO hot here in Alabama and I can't wait for it to cool off some more. I love sweaters and Halloween, and candy corn, and anything that comes in pumpkin spice flavor.

Being from SoCal, summer was always my favorite season. But with wretched heat, our diagnosis and morning sickness in '10, and waiting for heart surgery this year, fall is growing on me.

I baked apple pie today... I guess that a pro-fall move!

PS When Ellie saw Lily crying, she cried too. (She's teething. but I want to think it's empathy.)

1st I wanted to say thank you for shaing Lily's story and your lives with us. I stumbled upon you blog after learning of Reeces's Rainbow, not sure which blog lead me to yours but I am happy I have found it. I look forward to seeing the new photos of Lily daily, great start to my day.
I love fall, just like you. I love sweaters and jeans, but no coats. Love the cool crisp leaves and watching them change colors and drop to the ground. I love smores on our fire pit even though camping season is over. I love snuggling in the mornings because it is just a wee bit chilly to be up and about. I could go on forever but I think you get the picture. Again thanks for sharing!

WE LOVE LILY... We hope to see many happy fall pictures of her since here in Arizona we do not get to see it. But we do LOVE that the weather is no longer 120 degrees. Oh yeah and we love Scentsy so that we can enjoy the smells of fall!
Love the Twins!

My favorite season is Autumn, to be sure! I love knowing that my favorite holiday - Christmas - is coming, but that we get to enjoy the cold slowly seeping in rather than just galloping by. Of course, this Fall is extra special to me - I just got engaged to the love of my life, today is our second anniversary, and we love the wax burner we have in my bedroom! It would mean the world to me to be chosen for this giveaway!

Autumn is my favorite season! I love everything about it. The colors, the weather, the pumpkins, apple picking, apple cider, everything! And plus, I am kinda partial to the name Autumn anyway ;)

I love summer for its sunny and warm days! It's such a pity it lasts for so short here where I live :(

I love autumn, especially right around Halloween when there is chocolate everywhere :) I love that there are pumpkins and the the beautiful changes among the leaves. The cooler days. . . Just the smell of autumn brings me joy.

Until now. . . all we can smell is smoke of wildfires and all I can hear are sirens. Please pray for all of us in Texas--for rain, for safety, and for all who have lost their homes.

I love the fall too! Football, great holidays, lots of good eating and candy :-) My house feels much cozier in the fall even though we don't do a ton of decorations. I've been eyeing some of those cute Scentsy earners though ;-)

Not sure which smell I would like more. Probably both! I'm with Anna...right now, especially today it is just smokey here in ATX :-( It was a beautiful day, but they recommended people with respiratory issues stay indoors. So...me and the girls are trapped :-(

I love fall. The hot cocoa, the breeze, having the windows open, the falling leaves, hot cider and just everything about it!

Oh my! I don't know which set of Lily pics I like more! Those were HILARIOUS!!! I wonder if she's entering the 'not-so-pleasant twos' like my 20 mo old is. Boy is she moody!!
As for the giveaway question: Fall is my absolute favorite season. I live for October and November. It's all about the weather.

I think every one I know Loves Fall! I LOVE FALL!!! I love decorating the porch and front door with leaves and pumpkins and fall flowers! I love decorating with leaves and pumpkins inside too! I live in the deep south and we do not get a gorgeous fall like up north, so I have to pretend with all my fake fall leaves, but I don't mind! And I love my gingerbread candle, ( I should replace it with a scentsy warmer!)I love wearing long sleeve shirts, and bonfires, with s'mores. I love everything about fall!

its a toss up... I love love love fall because of the pretty leaves, apples, and pumpkins. I also love it because it cools down enough to bake pie after pie with all those fresh apples :) However, I also like sumer because I take a break from my job at a preschool for children with special needs and I get to go back to being a nanny for the 2 most fabulous girls I have been with for 10 yrs. It's hard for me to pick between the two.
The pics of Lily are darling, i love that you share her not so happy times along with that beautiful smile of hers.

Definitely autumn! I just did several posts about it- that's how much I adore it.

I love fall because Eli (my oldest) starts back to soccer! I love to put on a hoodie, grab a cup of cocoa and cheer for my boy! I also love the changing leaves and the brilliant colors God uses to paint the fall! Fall is my favorite time of year!

First of all, those pictures of Jack giving Lily kisses were absolutely adorable! :)
Now on to the business at hand....
My favorite season has always been fall. The love affair started because the beginnings of fall meant the close proximity of my birthday (I think my birthday actually falls on the first day of fall this year!). But then came the love affairs with crisp fresh apples, crunchy leaves, cooler temperatures, the way the sun shines through leaves of brilliant colors, and my personal favorite, decorating for Halloween. I love Halloween! It might just run a close second to Christmas in my book.....Putting up fancy smancy lights, wrapping the swing chains in fall colored leaves, straw bales and scarecrows. OOOHHHH I am excited just thinking about it. Unfortunately, my husband put out a moratorium on decorating for Halloween before the first of October. :(
Love to all the Rices!!!

I love Summer because of more relaxed schedules and getting out of the house with everybody after dinner to get ice cream or do something else fun but my all time favorite is Fall. I love the last four months of the year (I know technically some of that time is summer and winter) but I love Sept 1 thru Dec 31. I love cooler weather, football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas...all of it. But Jan 1, I'm ready for Spring.

Sarai said...

For sure Fall!! I love watching the leaves change color. All the Orange rust-like, the reds, and browns.

Erin B said...

Definitely spring. Thats an easy one. After winter's here in Montana that seem to last FOREVER I am so incredibly happy to see flowers, green grass and 60 degree days.
P.S. Those pictures of Lily are adorable and I love seeing the pictures of Jack consoling her.

Lily's look of "dismay" is identical to Elli's - CRAZY!!!! Those pictures are so priceless, they should be in a photobook!!! I love Autumn for all the same reasons you do...I love it also because it is such a pronounced Season...it surprises me how loudly Autumn screams "I am here!!" - it reminds me how quickly things change and to enjoy life as it happens!

I laughed so hard and loud the pups lifted there heads and looked at me as to say "what is so funny? OK please keep it down we are trying to nap." I LOVE LOVE LOVE those pictures, they tell a story in themselves. I love Jackson coming to the rescue. He is so handsome with those sweet angel kisses on his face.
My favorite season is Spring. I love the gentle new growth of tender leaves on trees or blades of grass. The sweet new blossoms just starting to peek through then the almost sudden burst of flowers be they bulbs coming into bloom or blossoms on a tree. The gentle rains, the downpours, the smell of rain, the birds busily gathering twigs, grass, spider webs, lint from the dryer...all to build nests for their future clutches. Life beginning anew. The anticipation of the Resurrection of nature and of Our Lord.

I love the pictures of Lily having a meltdown and Jack coming to her rescue! I am loving my Scentsy products and would probably have never bought them if you weren't selling them. So, thank you!

Spring is probably my favorite season for all the new life it both promises and delivers. Green grass being mowed for the first time again, birds singing and the days getting longer. It also means the end of the school year is right around the corner just in time for my second favorite season that is Summer.

Kat Sparks said...

I have to say that I also LOVE the fall. I just love being able to throw on a pair of jeans and a sweater or sweatshirt and be the perfect bit of cozy! I love all of the colors, smalls and decorations associated with fall.

Hi there! Fairly new reader here.. :-)

I absolutely love the pictures of Lily melting down over the popsicle. Made me smile!

I'm in agreement with you. I love fall!! Chicago summers can be so, so, so hot and drag on and on so when fall finally hits, I'm ready. I love dragging out the fall clothes, cuddling under blankets, pulling out fall scented stuff, decorating for the holidays, etc.

Hi Patti! It's nice to e-meet you! :) I came over to tell you thank you for entering the contest and your vote and became a new follower. I saw your request for votes too and popped over and voted for you!

My favorite season is summer. I like the heat (usually not too hot in western PA). I do love fall scents though and sweaters and boots and changing leaves. ;)

Youre home schooling? I really admire you more than ever.

I love Lily's meltdown pictures, she is just sooo cute! How sweet is Jack to come to her rescue...I started to wonder do they ever fight over toys or anything :)?

For the season, I love Spring the most, especially after a long Canada Winter. Everything starts to come back live again, it looks so promising everyday. Fall is my second favorite season it is so beautiful but always comes with some blue emotions.

I cant' decide between fall and spring. I love the cuddling and baking that fall brings, but I also love the newness and freshness of spring. Springs reminds me of forgiveness and new beginnings.
