Five Hundred Followers Giveaway!!!!

*Okay, before we go any further- I am laughing so hard at my own music selection for this post. I do realize there are lines from the movie Enchanted in this soundtrack. Apparently that's the only way it comes on Mixpod.com. But I had to include it here...because it is so perfect for the theme of things...cuz how does Lily know you love her unless you leave a comment?! ;) Also...the next song on my playlist is...Kool and the Gang. Yes, I know how 80's they are, and I bet you never thought you'd hear them on A Perfect Lily. But it's giveaway day, and I needed a celebratory song! Feel free to suggest a better one in the comment section:) And if you don't care for the music, you can pause the player on the right!

Dear Friends,

Last week when Lily's followers started approaching the 500 mark, I got a little idea in my head to host a Five Hundred Followers Giveaway. I had been wanting to do something for some time just to bless Lily's readers for always donating to our fundraisers, leaving sweet and encouraging comments, and basically carrying us through the last year and a half with your love and support.

My little idea turned into a bigger one...what if I could get Etsy owners to donate $500 worth of prizes to celebrate 500 followers?? I started typing "Lily" into Etsy's search engine to see how many cool items or shops I could find...and this post is LOADED with what resulted.

I am blown away at the kindness and generosity of these sellers~ none of whom had a clue who Lily was (except Sam from Happy Hooks) before this giveaway. Each one took about 2 seconds to say yes to my requests...and I am so excited for you to see what they offered! I hope you will take time in the next three days to visit each of these lovely shops...each one is unique and special and loaded with fun items. I only picked shops that I would personally buy from, and I really wish I could enter my own giveaway- these prizes are SO sweet!

The rules for entering are at the bottom of this post. Simply leave a comment saying you're a follower on A Perfect Lily. (And if you hadn't noticed, we are now at 512!)

*I am so sorry, but we do need to limit this giveaway to US residents only. Although I know Lily has lots of followers from all over the world, these gracious Etsy gals just can't afford to ship their prizes outside of the good ole' USA:)

So without further ado....let's CELEBRATE!!!

Our first giveaway item is the following:

Lily Baby Sling Carrier by Mod Mum

Photobucket
A Mod Mum best seller! Elegant and sophisticated in espresso this pattern looks beautiful with anything. The pattern is from soft cotton that reverses to espresso brown twill with a little stretch to give you and your little one added comfort. With leg padding to keep your baby comfy when using the hip carry. $54

Mod Mum owner Lisa told me she's sold many slings to moms of children with Down syndrome...because of Lily's lower muscle tone, she has a hard time "grabbing on" when I carry her, and even though she's only 14 pounds, she does get heavy after awhile! I can't wait to try Lily in her new sling (we picked the Delilah!) because it's going to be awhile til she is walking. Lisa told me that her slings can carry toddlers up to 35 pounds...which probably means I can use mine til Lily's five ;)

And if you just can't wait til the giveaway ends to win a sling, Mod Mum is also offering Lily's readers $5 off any baby sling by using promo code FIVEOFF at checkout!

And last but not least....

Lilybird Photography
Photobucket

...is donating a one hour photo session valued at $75! My daughter Mackenzie is the secret behind the amazing photography you see on Lily's blog. She has a new blog featuring her photos HERE and a website HERE. Here's a sample of what you'll find there...

Photobucket
*my adorable son, Noah

Photobucket
*my crazy son, Jackson and his wanna be girlfriend Chloe:)

Photobucket
*a recent wedding Kenzie shot...I wanna be young again :)

Obviously this photo shoot can only be won by someone local :) I know Lily has lots of readers in Portland, Eugene, Salem, Monmouth, McMinnville, Baker City, and Corvallis...so make sure you enter to win if you're a local!

*****************************************

And you male readers thought I forgot, didn't you??

Lily's daddy wanted to make sure Uncle Chris and any other guys didn't get left out of this fun..so just in time for Father's Day he is donating a $50 gift card to Target. And if a woman wins, you can give it to the man in your life. If you want;)

Okay, so I lied.

It wasn't really $500 worth of prizes.

It's $575 !!!!!!!!!

The rules are simple...just leave a comment saying you're a follower here at A Perfect Lily. (And if you're not- what are you waiting for?? Join the fun! Go sign up over on the sidebar!) And if you feel like it, tell me one other blog you follow that you really love. And yes, it can be your own :)

Winners will be drawn by random.org when the giveaway ends this Saturday at midnight. But due to the fact that my husband is a pastor and Sundays are verrrrry busy here at the Rice Ranch, I will not be posting the winners til later in the day.

One other important note...

A dear friend of mine asked if I could let Lily's readers know about a special family. They are adopting a sweet little guy from Reece's Rainbow, and they leave in four days...right now they are not fully funded, and are hosting their own giveaway to try to raise the remainder of their expenses. Please take a moment to visit Patsy's blog for details...and whether you donate or not has no bearing on entering my giveaway. And Patsy- you owe me! You better bring Miss Maggie Rae up to visit Lily some day!! ;)

Once again, I hope you all know how much you mean to our family- HAPPY FIVE HUNDRED!!!!!

Yay, 500! And my must-reads are all the little girls with DS a bit older than my Ellie - Kelle Hampton's blog, Sheva's blog. (And of course, I keep my own @ www.little-miss-stubborn.blogspot.com)

So excited you've raised such awareness!

Wow ~ all the prizes are amazing! You sure know how to spoil your readers. I follow several blogs many of which have to do with children with Ds and advocating for RR, while a few others are quite different (for example, 'Race for Justice') but I would have to say 'Kareen's Journey Home' is one of my "must reads" right now.

I'm a new follower and this is my first comment. :) I discovered about less than two weeks ago but have been checking it almost daily since. I follow just a few blogs through an RSS feed, and had been waiting to "follow" you since I couldn't find an "RSS" button. But the giveaway convinced me to try following through google friend...I'm not super web-savvy. ;)

Anyway, I'm a young mommy (two children two and under and one on the way) and I appreciate the spirit and perspective communicated on your blog. Sweet Lily has stolen my heart. :) My husband and I have in the last 6 months begun praying about adoption. It's such a blessing to me to hear the testimonies of others who are welcoming little ones into forever families!

You and your entire family have been a great blessing to me. I have been amazed to see how often you have mentioned things that my heart is struggling with, our God is so great that he can orchestrate things like that!!!

Even scrolling through the many prizes, I am humbled to think of how many other people are receiving blessings by being asked to participate!

Thank you for the blessings you give us all. My family is praying for you!

I am commenting on behalf of someone else. This way I won't actually have to spend money on her.

P.s. If I end up winning either the baby sling or the pony, please feel free to enter them into the next giveaway, or just draw another name. They're both fantastic, but... I'm not sure how she'll take it if I give her either of those.

Oh, Lily. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in July 2010. I was devastated, and thought my world was ending. I was so angry at God, at everyone. When I came across your blog in January of this year, I realized that God makes no mistakes. We are who we are for a purpose, for a reason. A tiny little girl taught me such a huge lesson. Thank you, Lily.

I am a VERY BLESSED follower of "A Perfect Lily." What a little angel. This giveaway looks awesome.
Most importantly, thank you for all you do to bring these precious orphaned children home to their forever families. I am praying (very hard) that it is God's will that we adopt a very special little girl off of RR's but He needs to poke at my husband's heart. God is big!

Just taking a moment to let Lily know that I love her to pieces. She's like a little celebrity that I would love to meet someday, especially since I live only about an hour north of her. :)

Ok, I'm now a follower... I clicked over here from Everything and Nothing from Essex, b/c Deanna mentioned your giveaway. I thought... oh I love giveaway. Then for the last hour I have been caught up in reading your story... Lily's story, and I know without a doubt it was not by chance I found my way over here this today.

5 weeks ago at my 19 week ultrasound we were told our baby girl had a large cystic hygroma. We were told this is often a result of chromosomal abnormalities - our nightmare began. We were told our daughter had a 2-7% chance of being born alive. There are other markers (i.e. short limbs, a heart defect) on the baby that are pointing to either Turner's or Down's. We declined an amnio, and we started praying for our baby girl - asking for prayer for her from all source - facebook, my blog, church, etc. We prayed that despite her challenges that we would be allowed to raise her. That she would be born alive.

She is still alive - things have not gotten worse and I'm now 24-1/2weeks along. And... we decided about 3 weeks ago that her name would be Lily. I have not even told my own mother that yet.

So finding your story and your blog has touched my heart today. Thank you for sharing through your pain. I know from my own pain and uncertainess that it can hard.

Blessing to your family and Lily of course!

Sarah @ Fat Little Legs
