Word filled Wednesday: A Day for Kirill

If you haven't heard the buzz...actress Patricia Heaton is donating $1 for every person who follows Reece's Rainbow on twitter. Sean Hannity heard about this yesterday and tweeted, asking his followers to support this challenge that Patricia made:

Sent a check for $10k to @ReecesRainbow in faith that all the Tweatons will follow. Get those kids out of institutions & into loving homes!

I have to admit, I didn't have a clue what twitter was all about...I got an account last month when I was asking people to vote for Lily's photo in the Parents contest...sent out a tweet..and guess who read it? Me.

Sooo...apparently you have to have followers to tweet to, your message doesn't just randomly go out to people. Who knew? (Sam, if you're reading this, stop laughing.)

ANYWHO I was very excited yesterday to see this bit of news, and what inspired it all was this sweet little guy...

If you haven't read his story yet, you can do so here.

Today all across the nation, friends of Kirill and the Davis family are fasting and praying for a miracle. PLEASE join with me in this effort- we are praying for a miracle in the judge's heart, so that Kirill and other children in his orphanage can be adopted.

And if you've never joined the twitter craze, sign up for an account and follow Reece's Rainbow- it's so easy to do, even I could figure it out. (only if you tweet, it might be helpful to get some people to follow you...just so someone's listening...just sayin'.) If you want to follow me on twitter, my name there is APerfectLily.

I am posting photos of Lils sans words tonight, because it is late and I'm exhausted...but just one more exciting little tidbit to share- we're starting a giveaway in a few days for Jason and Naomi's adoption fund, and we have a lot of reallllly sweet prizes ....don't miss out!

No more words now, just the Lilybird....

Set up a Twitter account last night. Sam, whoever you may be, would be laughing at me too! Fasting and reposting. I have hope. . . so much hope.

This really does make my heart ache. I signed up on twitter and followed Reece's Rainbow. I also put it on my facebook.

I will have to ask Jon about twitter because Sam would be laughing at me too!!

I am praying, praying, praying for a miracle for these families. It is amazing to watch God work when His people that call Him by name step up and turn to Him and depend only on His strength. He can move mountains. And it is amazing to watch Him use His people to set the captives free.

I LOVE the pictures of Lily. I cannot get enough of them; she is too adorable. The first one in the high chair just melts me- the look on her face is just so sweet. Love, Cara

Following Reece's Rainbow now, thank you for putting the information up for us all to be able to make a difference, even though its simply by following Reece's Rainbow on Twitter.

Love the pictures of your precious little Lily :) Its always a good way to start the day out by seeing a beautiful smile of a precious child.

God Bless

Forgive my ignorance, but I have to ask: I know that your son and daughter-in-law are too young to adopt via reece's rainbow right now, but why don't they start saving for it now and by the time they are old enough - they will have the money they need to fund the adoption. Or if they absolutely cannot wait 2 years - why not go for an adoption of a special needs child or an african-american child or a child that is maybe a little older from the state? There are so many children already waiting that would not cost $20K to adopt.

Anonymous- RR might be a route they choose to go later on. As a young couple who has already been "waiting" for almost 3 years (they married young!) it is their hearts' desire to start out with a baby. They have been attempting to go through the state- as a young couple with no parenting experience (they have been doing foster care to gain this) the state told them they are at the very bottom of a long waiting list to adopt. They have been open to adopting an older infant or an african american child from the state, and will continue to be open to it...they are completely open to adopting the 2 year old and 1 year old they are fostering right now- they go back to their mother on Friday after 6 months in Jason and Naomi's care, and it is killing us. Please pray for a door to open up for them that would cost less, as we are all hoping and praying for that as well.

anonymous- I am completely open to your honest opinion but please email me personally.

To clarify- Naomi has an incredible support system of family and friends (spread out over many states) that this fundraiser is primarily for- if you don't want to participate, please don't feel any pressure to do so.
And just to add..not everything about Jason and Naomi's situation is shared on this little blog. Those who know her and love her personally - and know the details I am referring to- will support her.

And Patti SO many of us ARE standing with and supporting Jason and Naomi. I know that they are open to whatever the Lord leads them to do because they are a couple that loves Him and is seeking His Will for their lives. He will bring them the most sweet, beautiful, special BABY that He has chosen for them. And I cannot wait to see many pictures of Naomi holding her baby in her arms that she will be able to raise from birth and nuture and love and care for.

Jon and I also got married young (as far as the world's standard), and I hate to even admit this, in fact, it hurts my heart to say it, but we never even thought about adoption or foster care, etc. Knowing what I know now, that breaks my heart. But God was so good and has given us six precious kids to raise, including our baby with that extra special chromosome. We are richly blessed! And we are now open and willing to whatever child God has for us.Jason and Naomi are a couple that are young and free, and yet, they have opened up their home and hearts to these special children that have parents that are not present or do not care to take care of them the way they should. They have sacrificed their lives and die to their own desires daily so that they can serve the least of these. And I know they would be open to any child the Lord has for them. That is obvious.
I just happened to be checking the comments again and saw the question anonymous asked. I am wondering anonymous, why are you concerned with questioning the motives of this sweet family and not busy examining the motives of your heart?? The Lord will open and shut the doors for Jason and Naomi as He sees fit and He will direct their steps as they seek His Will.

And just because I want to say this- there is nothing wrong with desiring a newborn baby that you can raise from birth. I cannot imagine not being able to have my own baby. That pain is deep and hurts. I think of Hannah in Scripture that cried out to God for a baby. God has placed this desire in His women. It is a good, godly desire. I have no idea the details to all of Jason and Naomi's plans with this area in their lives. I know that they have been open and willing to adopt the children they have, and sadly, they are leaving. But my heart hurts for Naomi as a mother myself. So, I am EXCITED to be part of the many, many people that will participate in this fundraiser for their adoption and even more EXCITED to see what the Lord has for them in this process. God is SO good. Much love to all of the Rice family that give SO much!!!! Cara

I have spoken to Patti via email and found out why. Now that I know why - I understand. I pray for them to find a baby of their own and I pray that God will fill their hearts with joy and love. Cara, you may have known the whole story all along - but I did not. I do not find it awful to wonder why and ask why. Those who have honest intentions can explain them - those who don't get mad and point the finger back. Patti explained, I understand, and that is the end of it. I am more than happy to explain where I am coming from, but I don't want to take up Patti's blog comments with it. You can email Patti for my email address and ask me yourself if you'd like to find out. :) God Bless you Patti for all that you have done for the children on RR.

Patti, once again you are a testimony of what a Christian woman should be...I would have told anonymous to MYOB and if you don't like the music, turn off the radio - if you don't like the show, turn off the tv - if you don't want to participate, DONT!! Anonymous is one reason why my blog is private!! I so appreciate you and your testimony, your beautiful family, and your blog!!
