"Thankful For You" Giveaway

Dear Friends,

I have been so overwhelmed lately at the generosity of strangers. Last month there was such an amazing outpouring of love for the children on Reece's Rainbow, that over $300,000 was raised in grant money during the Angel Tree project...and so far 30 children have had families come forward to adopt them.

Photobucket

As many of you know, our little giveaway last month helped raise over $16,000 for two of those orphans in just a few weeks. This had very little to do with us, and everything to do with the amazing people who heard about the need- and gave.

Photobucket

And I feel like the bonus to all that- the cherry on top, if you will- is the friends I've made in the process of it all...

Photobucket

..Debbie and Cara and Papa Scott and Shauna and Cathy and Katrina and Julie, just to name a few...

Photobucket

The love and prayers and encouraging words that come to my little inbox every day is like waking up on Christmas morning over and over again...

Photobucket

I am so honored that so many would come here to read Lily's story, and walk this road with us...

Photobucket

So, as a thank you to all of you beautiful people who have been pulling and praying and giving for the children on Reece's Rainbow, I am doing a little giveaway here on Lily's blog~

Photobucket

Some of you might remember this fabulous Etsy shop from November..

Photobucket

Sam, the owner, has been crocheting wonderful creations for over 12 years. Her shop is filled with amazing goodies like these...

Photobucket

And for the second time, HappyHooksCrochet is donating a $25 gift credit to one of Lily's readers...

Photobucket

No donations for entries...just leave a comment telling me something about yourself- where you live or what you love or how you came to find your way here.

Photobucket

A winner will be drawn from the comment section Monday night.

*US residents only please, due to shipping costs.

You can leave a second comment for "liking" HappyHooks on Facebook here:

And Lily wanted to tell you about a little birthday present she received today, a week early..

Photobucket

Her friend Nella's Mama asked for her picture today, so that she could be included in a very special birthday celebration over here. Lily and Nella are just one week apart, and what a special gift... to be celebrated among some of our favorite friends at Enjoying the Small Things. Please go wish Nella a Happy Birthday if you haven't already:)

And just in case you have been wondering about these girls, since our giveaway last month...

I wanted you to know that their grants are still rising.

Olga now has $12,709 in her grant fund.

Photobucket

and Kareen now has $3,694 in her grant fund.

Photobucket

I am anticipating being able to announce some wonderful news very soon for Olga. Nothing is finalized yet...but things are in the works right now, so please keep praying as decisions are being made about her.

On that note- if you come to my blog and read that families are inquiring about these girls...please do not hesitate to contact Andrea Roberts at Reece's Rainbow if you are interested in adopting them. So far four families (and those are only the ones I know of- there may have been more) have inquired about Olga, and 3 of these families had to withdraw their applications for one reason or another.

Adoption is a complicated process, and there are so many factors involved in finding the right match for a child and family. So bear with me when I'm hinting at good news- I just can't come here and spill everything because of privacy issues, and also because right now nothing is set in stone. I also don't want to dissuade any families from inquiring about Olga or Kareen by hinting at good things to come.

If you are able to donate to these girls, you can do so by clicking their button on the right, which will take you directly to their grant fund pages. Every little bit helps. Ten dollars might not seem like much, but multiplied by the readership here, it could mean the world to these little girls.

If you are interested in helping with a large giveaway we have planned, please contact me via email. We were so blessed by all the people who asked how they could help or donate to our two giveaways last month, and many readers have asked how they can help with future giveaways. God multiplied what we gave, and I am so excited to see what else He will do next month!

Thank you again, and please don't forget to leave a comment for an entry in the giveaway!

Happy weekend!

How is our little Lily so cute and standing now?? So awesome to see Miss Lily on Nella's blog. I love those little girls. They've opened my eyes to a world of orphans who so desperately need people to "see".

I am from frigid MN, currently 4 degrees, with -10 degree windchill! I "met" you through Aubrey's Mom, Rachel. Looking forward to escaping the MN cold to go help when her newest little is born at the end of the month!

Okay, what I love....I absolutely love Reece's Rainbow. It has brought so much to my attention, and God has put a passion in my heart for these kids. Special needs or not, every child has meaning and purpose and they are SO meant to be....
Love you, Patti!

Hi Patti. I'm Carolyn (Jacob's mommy and cairogirl from babycenter) in CO. I started reading your blog after getting to know you a bit on babycenter. I was drawn by your strong faith and curious about how faith helped you process the diagnosis. You write beautifully and it's helped me in my own journey. I feel like we would be great friends in real life. :)
Thanks for all you have done for RR! You are an inspiration.
Blessings,
Carolyn

Hi Pat,

I am a Special-Agent/Bodyguard/Pilot. I used to protect Dr Benton Quest (one of the top three scientists in the world), and his son Jonny, and adopted son Hadji.

I love mixed martial arts, and adventure. I know I can't clean up my little corner of it, so I'm trying to save the whole world.

I live wherever adventure takes me.

I found your blog through your brother.

I hope, if I win, I get one of those raccoon hats...

Hi Patti,

What a sweet thing to do. Those little hats on Happy Hooks are adorable. I sent it to my facebook page so all my friends can see what she has to offer.

Thanks also for letting us know about Nella. I am new to your blog so I haven't read about her yet or the wonderful organization that helps all people with Downs. Thanks for letting me help them out too.

Patti, Loved to see Lily's pic among all of the gorgeous photos on the Enjoying the Small Things Blog. I am blog's readers & am happy to see that Kelle is using her forum to raise money & awareness for DS. When I think about how much money was raised for the Reece's Rainbow Angel Tree Fund through blogs like yours, & what Kelle is now hoping to raise for the NDSS through her blog, I am just blown away. Makes me feel that there is tremendous hope for our children's futures.

I found you blog through BBC (Feb '10) But stayed because of the love you obviously have for your beautiful daughter. It warms my heart to see other families realize what a blessing God has given them when it comes to special children. I come from a family with a disabled sister, and a disabled nephew and niece from my other sister. I know the wonderful things these special children bring to our lives, and I know I wouldn't be the same without them. God bless!!

(PS-I'm gonna go "like" HappyHooksCrochet right now, cause those hats are just too darn adorable. Even if I don't win, I think my little Lucy needs one for her birthday!)

I do not want to win the giveaway, Patti. I had to tell you that that first picture of Lily, I love. And I was just looking at the pictures of Olga and Kareen again. Kareen reminds me of our Benji. They are so precious. I am so thankful you have opened my eyes to these sweet babes. Love, Cara

Race said my comment doesn't count because I didn't tell you about myself - soooo - I am the wife of a truly brave man (who happens to be very cute) who is the love of my life, I am the mommy of 5 of the best boys on the planet and the most amazing little girl ever (besides lily of course), I am the daughter of one of the most unselfish and giving mothers on the planet, I am the aunt to an amazing 16 nieces and nephews, 3 of whom I had the extreme pleasure of entertaining for the past 10 days, and I am a child of the Gracious, Faithful, and Forgiving God in Heaven. I love being a homemaker, wife, and mommy, and I love my family!!

Oh my goodness, that pic of Lily looking out the window, sticking her little bum out. ADORABLE!!

I'm a homeschool mommy first and foremost. It's my occupation and my passion. Teaching my children to love and serve Jesus is my top priority, all the rest is gravy.
I found your blog thru a friend who blogged about a friend who blogged about your blog. LOL!

"Papa" checking in... I am old enough to be the father of most of the bloggers checking in here, or visiting my blog.
Candy and I homeschooled both of our daughters.
Both of our daughters were born at home, in the same room as I am typing this in...
I don't want one of those cute caps for me... but my granddaughters would love one, I'm sure.

We are eagerly waiting for the news that we can take Olga's picture down!
