You had to know I would comment. What inspires me in life...hmm, I think right now what inspires me is the girls and answered prayers. I know the girls is sort of a typical answer, but they are a part of the answered prayers. God has done some amazing things in my life. He never does them the way I think and expect him to, but I still get my answers.

And I voted for Lily. :-)

God is my inspiration as well as my family. God did so much for me by dying on the cross, so how could I not want to do better for Him? And my family is so encouraging, and is always there for me. I am inspired to be a better person for God and for my family

Trying to change lives with Jesus' love is my inspiration.

What inspires me (besides Claire) is all of the families out there who take the leap of faith and adopt a child (or 2) with Ds.

Thank you for your beautiful, painful, wonderful and loving story! The link was sent to me by a niece with a Down's baby. I must admit to being one who felt, and told them, that this baby picked the perfect family to be born into. While that is true, I now understand that perhaps was not the best thing to have said.

Thank you, and G-d Bless you!

I know this is such a cliche but my children really are my inspiration. My husband is in the Army and when things are stressful in that aspect of our lives they are the reason I still have a smile on my face. Also, pretty things in general inspire me. lol!

Amanda L said...

Oh and I voted for Lily too! She is absolutely gorgeous. :)

Susanna said...

Oooh, ooh, those hats are so cute! I want to play, too! :)

What inspires me? Anyone who can combine honesty with grace, especially when life gets really tough. My mom was like that, and it's what I want to be like when I grow up, painful as it can be getting there. ;)

(Shauna, if you read this, that was very sweet of you! You WILL help other mamas someday if it's in your heart to do that!)

Susanna said...

I voted for you, Patti! Exciting that you have so many votes! It would be so neat to see yours WIN!

Wow - Your blog is amazing. Jesus inspires me every day - to strive to be more like Him. I have a son with special needs who is 16, a 14 year old daughter and our little surprise from God baby Audrey. I will pray for you and Lily - she is a very blessed girl to have such a loving Mother!
Blessings to your family!
Christine:)

By far one of my biggest inspirations has got to be my daughter, Amelia Rose. She started teaching me the meaning of strength before she was even born and then again when she was five weeks old and underwent one of many major surgeries. Throughout it all she was the picture of strength and love. Her journey and strength prepared me in more ways than one for the birth of our 4th child, Benjamin, who we found out has Ds. To look at Amelia today you would never know all she had been through at such a young age, but her strength still shines!

The Morris Family said...

My daughter, Amelia Rose, has been an inspiration to me since before she even entered this world. Her strength, courage and love at such a young age is a constant reminder to me that anything is possible.

Cathy said...

Oh yay!!! What a cute hat. I'm inspired by many things, but my Lily has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and advocate. She's helped me to speak up and do things I never, ever would have done in the past. I'm so blessed to be her mommy!

Cathy said...

...and I voted for Lily's blog a couple of days ago. Does that count?

The invitation to eternal life with our Lord and all the angels and saints in heaven inspires me greatly! I hope it becomes ever more inspiring to me throughout my life and especially in and through my family's lives.

I am also inspired by the loving example of other mothers ~ they make me want to do better.

Voted for the lily bug. And what inspires me the most in life is a very hard broken soul changing right before my eyes as they accept Jesus. To see an even physical transformation, the softness around the edges, the joy spilling through the cracks in the stone...inspires like nothing else can.

Those hats are adorable! My children inspire me :) Everything is so innocent and magical at this stage (4, 2, 6.5 months).

I also love hearing my oldest hide the words of God in her heart every week while she memorizes her AWANA verses. Motherhood is amazing!

lacy myers said...

I also voted for sweet Lilly and posted about this on my facebook wall :)

Awwww ahe is so sweet, my little Lily has Ds too, she is almost 14 months old. Everytime I look at her face I get inspired to do more than i ever imagined I could accomplish on my own. With God all things are possible. Take care of that little angel!

I'd comment, too, but all the sentiments here are so sweet and uplifting. I wouldn't fit in here well at all.

I have been reading your blog for quite some time, but never commented. Lily is an absolute doll. I admire that you have 10 children. I cannot begin to imagine how busy you are. My two children are my inspiration.

I have been reading tons about DS since I was pregnant with my daughter. I was AMA and although I was told everything looked good, I wanted to be prepared so I started reading the DS board on BBC. Well now I am addicted and follow several blogs...yours included.

What inspires me most? My Jesus, because I know there is nothing on this earth that I am going through that he hasn't had to. My husband, because he is the hardest worker I know. Not just on physical work but our marriage and his relationship with his kids. My church family, because they are totally and completly amazing supporting me in every trial and decision all the while going through there own things back at the home front. My pastor and his wife, because they have gave so much just to see my family make it for God. And I really get inspired when I get to give so much up to help someone else make it for Jesus.

What a beautiful blog. I love the pic of Lily with her little tiny ponytail. She just shines with joy. What a gorgeous little girl!

Wow. I just love your blog! You are amazing and your daughter is so sweet. I am inspired by working with children with special needs. I have been a special education teacher for 9 years and I am constantly amazed by the light and love they give....without even knowing it. I am also inspired by my own children. To quote a song, "I see the best of me inside your eyes" My children are all of the amazing pieces of me and my husband that I never knew existed. It just amazes me everyday how much I love them. :)

Carey Doyle said...

What inspires me? Well, I have a list:
1. My unending love for God
2. My children and their honesty
3. My friends on the Babycenter Down Syndome board inspire me daily to be a better Mom, an advocate for my daughter, and just to be myself! Without them and you I would be a crumbled mess in a corner somewhere! I love them!
I, of course voted for Lily, too.
